01About the project
An invited concept for the headquarters of Hatif Libya, the national fixed-line telecommunications carrier, on the first phase of the company’s existing site in central Tripoli. The brief described an institution whose departments had drifted across the city, and asked for one building that would gather them into a single address and give the company a public face equal to its role in the country’s digital infrastructure.
The proposal — The Link, stacks the office floors as continuous horizontal bands that step and curve with the site, so the building reads as a single sculpted mass rather than a tower on a podium. Deep planted terraces run the length of every band, shading the recessed glazing and carrying green space up through the building. A dark stone base holds the public entrance and customer-facing functions; the floors above are planned for consolidation now and reconfiguration later. The architecture makes the institutional argument in built form: one connected body where there had been many.
