01About the project
A prominent Tripoli mosque conceived as a contemporary homage to the Dome of the Rock — an octagonal plan crowned by a central metallic dome. A double-height perimeter arcade mediates between the city and the sanctuary; bronze mashrabiya screens within recessed arches control sun, privacy, and ventilation. The main prayer hall sits as a clear, column-free volume beneath the dome, with an upper women’s gallery wrapping the perimeter. The building reads as a civic landmark, calibrated through local craft rather than ornament.
