LTT Administrative Campus

An administrative campus for Libya Telecom & Technology, commissioned through Imar Alqura, the contractor that won the tender and brought DARA in for the architecture. The building is planned low rather than tall — a ground floor beneath three office levels, the top one set back — around a forecourt that gathers staff and visitors into a single arrival. The horizontal band is the whole language. Each floor is wrapped in a continuous white edge that runs unbroken around every corner, deep enough to shade the glazing behind it. Rounded corners let the building turn without changing its vocabulary; the set-back upper level keeps the mass low against the sky.
